Today in our garden ... discover some health secrets of charcoal!

Traditional healers have used it for thousands of years, due to its many benefits. Activated charcoal or activated charcoal or activated vegetable charcoal is a black powder, light, consisting essentially of carbonaceous material with a porous structure. It is, a kind of charcoal having a very large specific surface which gives it a strong adsorbing power.

Activated charcoal would have been used in Antiquity by Hippocrates around 400 BC. AD and even in Ancient Egypt around 1550 BC. AD for medicinal uses. In the XNUMXth century, activated carbon would have been used for the purification of liquids by filtration or sedimentation.

Ancient physicians used charcoal for various medical purposes, including the treatment of epilepsy and anthrax. At the beginning of the XNUMXth century, medical journals began to publish research revealing that activated charcoal was an antidote to poisons and a means of improving intestinal disorders. Current research supports these earlier practices of activated carbon and also introduces additional benefits to its use.

Hippocrates (400 BC) and Pliny (50 BC) recommend charcoal in the treatment of epilepsy, dizziness, chlorosis and "anthrax disease" contracted by the tanners. In 1773, Scheele explains the phenomenon of gas absorption by coal. In 1785, Lowitz showed that charcoal was able to discolor many liquids. In 1793, DM Kehls recommended in his memoir the use of charcoal to eliminate the odors of gangrene, purify the breath, putrid fevers and all bilious states.

In 1813, a certain Bertrand, a French chemist, made a public demonstration. He is holding a vial which contains 5 g of arsenic trioxide (1 teaspoon), enough to kill 150 men. He raises his arm and brings the drink to his lips. A few minutes later, he should feel the inexorable effects of this drug: nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, intense burning of the mouth and throat, excruciating cramps in the stomach, rapid dehydration and death. Before the dumbfounded and horrified eyes of the crowd, Bertrand nevertheless goes about his business quietly and presents no disturbance.

In 1831, a pharmacist from Montpellier named Touéry, performed the same trick, but this time in front of the French Academy of Medicine. He swallows 1 g of strychnine (10 times the lethal dose). This poison strikes a man in 10 minutes with uncontrollable convulsions and respiratory arrest. Yet Touéry remains calm and relaxed. He presents no disturbance, to the total amazement of the teachers. The secret ? Bertrand and Touéry had both studied the action of vegetable charcoal on poisons and both wanted to demonstrate that they had discovered the universal antidote.

Charcoal binds to certain poisons, heavy metals, and other toxins and removes them from your body, making it a wonderful substance for both acute and general detoxification.

The benefits of activated charcoal include general detoxification, digestive health, gas, bloating, heart health, and anti-aging.

In herbal medicine, it is used to:

  • Capture toxins, relieve bloating and aerophagia
  • Reduce the waistline. Activated charcoal is a simple and effective recipe for a flat stomach.
  • Act on diarrhea and other symptoms of gastroenteritis
  • In case of toxemia land (if you have a dull complexion, acne pimples, white tongue), you can use charcoal to drain you.

So what is toxemia?

It is the presence of incompatible substances in the blood, lymph, body fluids, organs, tissues and cells. This therefore brings us back to a notion of impregnation of the organism by toxemic overloads of various origins ...

Just two grams of activated charcoal powder (4 capsules of coconut charcoal) is roughly the same area as a football field. The porous surface has a negative electrical charge which attracts toxins and positively charged unwanted gases.

Toxins from low-quality and processed foods, along with environmental pollution, decrease your energy and contribute to brain fog and digestive issues. Chronic exposure to toxins causes cell damage, allergic reactions, compromised immunity, and rapid aging. Regular use of activated charcoal can flush unwanted toxins from your body and leave you feeling refreshed and more energized, often within minutes.

It is a poison control

Today, we have scientific proof that activated carbon absorbs all poisons ... For 10 years, more than 500 medical articles have offered more than 10 scientific references on the subject. Charcoal is probably the simplest, most effective, and cheapest decontamination agent we know of.

Activated charcoal is effective against mercury, lead, insecticides, herbicides, hormones, and even some radioactive substances. For the past 15 years, activated charcoal has been used to detoxify pain relievers, febrifuges, tricyclic antidepressants, cardiac glycosides, organic solvents, most iatrogenic drugs and chemicals.

Here is a non-exhaustive list of poisons that can be eliminated by activated charcoal:

Drugs ;

Dangerous drugs;

Alkaloids;

Food additives;

Agricultural chemicals;

Heavy metals;

Toxic gases;

Detergents;

Organic solvents;

Chemotherapy;

Bacterial toxins;

Venoms;

Histamine from tuna;

Mycotoxins found in food from antibiotics;

Aflatoxins, etc ...

It is an excellent anti-aging

Activated charcoal has powerful anti-aging properties and studies show that it prevents many cellular changes associated with aging.

It slows down the rate of the brain's sensitivity to toxins as we age, which improves cognitive functioning and also builds a better defense mechanism by improving the adaptive function of essential organs such as the liver, kidneys, and adrenal glands.

It allows for better heart health

Activated charcoal can also lower cholesterol levels.

In one study, patients with high cholesterol who took 8 grams of activated charcoal three times a day experienced a 25% reduction in total cholesterol. They also reduced their LDL ("bad") cholesterol by 41% and their HDL ("good") cholesterol by 8%. Studies examining microscopic tissue show that a daily dose of activated charcoal can prevent abnormal hardening (sclerosis) of the heart and coronary blood vessels.
