Organic papaya powder - High dose 10: 1 Papain enzyme
WHAT IS PAPAYA?
Papaya is a tropical fruit native to Mexico and South America. It is part of the Caricaceae plant family and grows on the Carica papaya tree in tropical climates.
Indeed, papaya is a food rich in nutrients. This means that each serving contains a low amount of papaya calories but a high amount of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants. In particular, it is a good source of vitamin C and vitamin A. It also provides a good dose of folate and potassium.
The papaya tree is sometimes called the pharmacy tree because its fruits, leaves, seeds and latex have healing properties.
The papaya tree can be male or female, but also hermaphrodite. Only female and hermaphrodite plants (in smaller quantities for the latter) bear fruit.
The name of the fruit "papaya" comes from the Amerindian name papaya which means in the Guarani language "fruit resembling a breast full of milk". The shape of the papaya evokes this feminine organ and the white latex that flows from the incised fruit could make us think of breast milk.
In many parts of the world, papaya is believed to help treat malaria, E. coli, and parasitic infections naturally.
It relieves indigestion, has antiseptic properties and is recommended for diabetics and liver patients.
In Ayurveda, papaya can help alkalize the body, reduce inflammation, and strengthen the function of the spleen. In addition, it would be able to nourish the body, improve energy levels as well as improve visual acuity.
Today, papaya is cultivated all over the world in many tropical regions like India, Indonesia, Brazil, Nigeria, Mexico, the United States and many Central American countries which are the bigger producers.
Moreover, the popularity of using this fruit in recipes around the world has steadily increased over the past decades.
Why should you eat papaya?
Papain is a special enzyme found in raw papaya. It is popular in traditional medicine because of its ability to break down protein, aid digestion, and reduce inflammation.
This is because papain helps to break the bonds between amino acids which are the building blocks of proteins.
Papain is similar to other types of enzymes made in the pancreas that help our bodies digest meat, but unlike other enzymes, it can work even without the presence of acid.
Finally, the papaya enzyme has also been shown to exhibit wound healing, infection-fighting, and pain-relieving effects.
